The Wellington Region Heritage Promotion Council Inc is made up of people and organisations interested in the promotion and preservation of our region's heritage.

Heritage Month - September 2015

View of Mungavin Homestead in 1918. 
The house was built for Patrick Mungavin in 1915 and the family lived there until 1958 when it was
 sold to the New Zealand Government. The landscaping was designed by Alfred William Buxton.

What We Do

Since 1993 we have promoted Heritage Month.
Participation is invited from all interested parties who can contribute to a programme of events, displays and activities of interest to the public.
There is no charge to participate and Membership is not obligatory.

Heritage Today  is our bi-monthly news-sheet of heritage events in the region, emailed free to interested parties. ISSN 2463-2988. All issues are online in our Newsletter Library (below).

Our Members and Supporters are individuals, groups, historical societies, museums, libraries, local councils and government departments. All are welcome to attend our meetings.

Join Us   We welcome membership from anyone who is interested in the promotion and preservation of our region's heritage.
The annual subscription is $30.
